Review: Young States – Down To You EP.

After recently playing Camden and Norwich to celebrate the launch of their EP, I felt it was the right time to give a listen to Young States who recently released their debut EP, Down To You – which can be streamed on Spotify right now. You can learn more about the band through their facebook here.

Full of some great melodies with some fuzzy riffs that work great throughout, Young States create some great music on this their debut EP, with a precise sound to their record which weaves together incredibly well. No More and latest single Feedback make all this of this very clear and partnered with the vocals this band make some great tracks on Down To You.

The writing has some great depth throughout and the listener really can connect to the track, the vocals help too, where you can hear the emotion going into these songs, the tracks really working incredibly together. Stay has some great writing and one of the highlights of this short record. There’s lots of good things found in these tracks, and for a debut EP, it clearly shows this is a band with a lot of potential.

Down To You is a really good start for this band and I look forward to more in the future as they gain momentum and work on their sound. Highlights for me on this EP are No More and Passing Time, however this EP works brilliantly together and recommend listening to the whole thing. If you like some good rock tunes, Young States is band that should be on your radar right now.

8/10.
