Review: Such Strange Arts – Waking The Neighbours EP.

such strange arts ep art.jpegSuch Strange Arts released their new EP at the end of January, Waking The Neighbours through Standby Records. The band who hail from Essex have worked with Jake Pitts of Black Veil Brides on previous records, so if you like your pop punk more pop, this EP is for you.

Reminiscent of a variety of bands such as Five Seconds Of Summer, McFly and All Time Low, the band create some big choruses on this record and that is consistent throughout, with tracks that are destined to be stuck in your head for a long time to come, Sextual Relations certainly is a good example of this.

The band have an incredible amount of energy on this record with some huge melodies, the drums really sounding great on this record, the rhythm section working together well on this EP, tracks such Criminal and Waking The Neighbour certainly make it clear, bringing some energy to the record and making for some great pop punk music – it’s a very good record and a strong debut on Standby for them.

Such Strange Arts new record is done incredibly well, the band really refining their sound perfectly on Waking The Neighbours, sure their influences are clear on this record, but you can hear the hard work gone in to this record, with some awesome drum work and great lyricism that will get stuck in your head. Highlights for me are Stay and Sextual Relations. You can listen to the EP now here.

7.5/10.
