Halestorm recently released an EP of covers, Reanimate 3.0. With some classic tracks covered on this EP, this band certainly make their own stamp on these six tracks with ease and you can listen to the EP here.
The EP opens with In The Still Of The Night, a track that Lzzy Hale makes her own. The vocals are always incredible from this band and it really is no different on these tracks from the start. A classic track originally by Whitesnake, In The Still Of The Night is made so original by its female vocals on this cover.
The band keep it to the original for the most part, however the riffs are definitely delivered with equal measure on tracks by Metallica, on tracks such as Ride The Lightning the instrumental is packed with riffs that just go on for days and you do not mind at all. Halestorm cover Heathens by Twenty One Pilots on this EP too, and they make it their own, bringing a heavier tone to the track and it sounds so good (I almost prefer it).
Reanimate makes me look forward to whatever Halestorm do next, as it shows just how good this band are at bringing something new to something, as they make these tracks theirs here. Highlights for me on this EP are In The Still Of The Night and Ride The Lightning where this band just show what they can do – a great listen, 27 minutes of brilliance.
