Review: Peaness – Same Place / Seafoam Islands.

peanessPeaness recently signed to Alcopop! Records for EP ‘Are You Sure?’  and with that released a double A side single, releasing tracks Same Place and Seafoam Islands through Odd Box Records. The trio tour throughout February and if these tracks are to go by, go see them.

Same Place has a great groove created by the upbeat guitars on this track that run throughout the song, the airiness of the melodies combined with the vocals sounds so good together on Same Place, it just makes you keep listening. The chorus is infectious on this track and it makes for the coolest pop song.

Seafoam Islands raises the tempo with a more funky sound from the start of the track, that looping riff works on this track as the song builds, the drums coming in at the perfect moment to really deliver some great melodies. The vocals can seem a little drowned in places, but that barely matters when you have such good ones, the combination of the vocals really working on this track to the very end.

You can give Same Place a listen on Spotify here, and you should be listening to it – this band’s 2017, is going to be great.
