Review: Eric King – Self Titled EP.

eric-king-cover-art-explicitEric King recently released four tracks on this self titled record. A combination of different music influences including Electronica, Hip Hop and Rap, King brings together some great tracks, which you can give a listen to now through King’s Bandcamp right now, here.

From the moment the record begins, this EP begins with pounding electronica melodies on The Greatest that gives a great beat for the rapping vocals, turning into a groove that keeps the pace until the end of the track. The chorus is infectious and the experimental sounds with vocals stands out on this record too.

This talent for melodies continues on tracks such as Trillionaire, there’s a dark edge on this record and this is reflected on this track with a piercing and relentless melody and a raw lyricism that is the perfect partner to the beats that King makes on Trillionaire – as King finds his sound on his EP, he brings an unrivalled confidence and it makes for a powerful listen to the end. If you like Rap, this is the beginning of something great, check it out.
