Review: All Ears Avow – Edge Of This EP.

All Ears Avow this week self release their EP Edge Of This. With comparisons with bands such as Don Broco and support slots with bands such as Milk Teeth, this band certainly have promise and it shows, particularly on tracks such as Hurricane which you can give a listen to here.

This band pack a punch with melodies straight from the start of their new record. Spiralling riffs give this EP great bounce and real energy that has a velocity that you need to catch up with, opening track Caged definitely leaves you gasping for breath and that doesn’t change throughout, these tracks live I suspect work incredibly well.

The vocals are strong throughout and work well with the sound the band are delivering. Infectious hooks on title track Edge Of This which showcases that raw writing to which  works with the pace of this record. Sutton’s voice powers through and delivers, reminiscent of bands such as Tigress in places,  the vocals are versatile and bring some nice harmonies in places too.

All Ears Avow really show what they are made of on this record with energetic riffs and powerful vocals that are used incredibly on this record, tracks such as The Middle packing that power in and it makes for one of the many highlights on the Edge Of This. Other stand out tracks on this EP for me are Just For Me and Hurricane, but this EP is definitely worth a listen, some fine Alternative Rock here.

8/10.
